We understand that many people look to organic and fair trade coffee to make more informed purchasing decisions. Even though our coffees are not certified organic, we source our raw beans from selected farms that produce according to organic standards. In addition, we only work with a raw bean buyer who ensures that our raw beans are fairly traded. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with high quality coffee that not only tastes great, but is also produced ethically and sustainably.

Product questions

We source our raw beans from six different countries including Brazil, India, Guatemala, Colombia, Rwanda and Peru. Through direct contact with coffee farmers and fair trade practices, we ensure that our raw beans are of the highest quality and offer an unforgettable taste experience.

Ideally, the coffee should be consumed 2 weeks after roasting. The roasted coffee can be stored for up to 1 1/2 years.

Ideally, the coffee should be sealed airtight with an aroma valve and protected from the sun. Our Bärista packaging meets these criteria and is therefore ideal for storing coffee.

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer decaffeinated coffee, but we are not ruling it out either. Sign up for our newsletter so you don't miss news like this.

Questions for coffee newbies

On the one hand, espresso beans are often roasted darker than beans for filter coffee. On the other hand, they also differ in the preparation method with regard to the brewing pressure and the extraction time. While the espresso is extracted from an espresso machine, such as a portafilter machine, at 6 to 9 bars in 25 to 30 seconds, the early time for filter coffee is 2 to 6 minutes. In addition, the extraction of an espresso shot creates a crema, whereas with filter coffee the coffee is usually clear.

Arabica and Robusta are the two main types of coffee beans. Arabica beans are known for their mild and sweet taste as well as their pleasant aroma. Robusta beans, on the other hand, have a stronger, bitter taste and contain more caffeine than Arabica beans. In general, Arabica beans are considered to be of higher quality and account for around 60% of global coffee production, while Robusta beans are often used in cheaper coffee blends. At our coffee roasting company we only use high-quality Arabica beans to offer our customers the best possible coffee quality.

There are many ways to make coffee at home without using a coffee maker. An easy way is to make filter coffee with a hand filter or a French press. For this we recommend our freshly roasted coffee variety “ CAFE DES MAMAS ”, which is especially suitable for filter preparations and offers a unique taste experience. Feel free to take a look around our online shop to find the perfect variety for your preparation method.

The different growing regions have an influence on aromas and flavors due to different climatic and environmental conditions. Our beans come from six different countries.
